Dialling From Your Phone While Calls Log to HubSpot

How to dial prospects from your own phone and still have every call logged to HubSpot, using a two-leg bridge and a mobile web app.

Reps do not stop selling when they leave the desk. The problem has always been that calls made from a personal phone vanish: no log, no recording, no outcome, no coaching. Dialling from your phone through Ringside fixes that. You talk on your own handset like normal, and the call still lands in HubSpot with its recording, transcript and outcome, exactly as if you had dialled from your laptop.

The problem with dialling from your phone

A call placed straight from your phone's native dialler is invisible to your CRM. HubSpot never sees it, so there is no timeline entry, no recording for review and no disposition for reporting. Managers lose visibility, coaching is impossible, and the rep is left retyping notes later, if at all. That gap is why most mobile selling never makes it into the numbers.

The fix is not a softphone crammed into a mobile browser tab, which depends on the phone's data connection for audio quality. The fix is to let the phone do what it is good at, carrying a voice call, while something else handles the logging.

How the two-leg bridge makes it a normal call

Ringside uses a two-leg PSTN bridge. When you tap to dial, Ringside rings your own phone first. You answer, and then it bridges the prospect in. From your side it is an ordinary phone call on your normal handset, over the normal cellular network, so the audio is as reliable as any other call you make.

The browser is only the control plane

There is no call audio in the browser. The web app is just the panel you tap to start the dial and set the outcome; the voice travels over the phone network. That is why it works the same on a phone as on a laptop, with nothing to install on the telephony side.

Because the call is carried by Ringside rather than your native dialler, everything that happens on a desktop call happens here too: the conversation is recorded and transcribed with consent, and it is all written back to HubSpot. This is the same mechanism covered in CRM call writeback explained.

Coaching and logging on the move

Dialling from your phone is not a stripped-down mode. The same live coach that runs on desktop runs here: both sides are transcribed in real time and scored against your framework, with nudges on screen, and on hang-up you get a summary, action items and a follow-up email draft. When the call ends, the call, recording, transcript and outcome are written back to the HubSpot contact automatically.

  • Same coaching: live transcription and framework scoring, on the phone as on the desktop.
  • Same logging: the call, recording, transcript and disposition land on the HubSpot timeline. See automatic call logging in HubSpot.
  • Same compliance: do-not-call and calling-hours are checked before each dial, wherever you are.

Installing the mobile app

Ringside runs on mobile as a progressive web app (PWA), so there is no app store download. You open the Ringside dashboard in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen; from then on it opens like a native app, full screen, with a tap-to-dial button ready. Because it is the same web app as on desktop, there is nothing separate to keep updated.

Frequently asked questions

Will calls I make from my phone be logged in HubSpot?

Yes, when you dial through Ringside rather than your native dialler. Ringside rings your phone, bridges the prospect in, and writes the call, recording, transcript and outcome back to the HubSpot contact automatically, the same as a desktop call.

Do I need to install an app to dial from my phone?

No app store download is needed. Ringside is a progressive web app: open the dashboard in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen. There is nothing to install on the telephony side because your own phone carries the call.

Is call quality worse on mobile?

No. The two-leg bridge means the audio travels over the normal phone network on your own handset, not through the browser, so a call on the move sounds like any other phone call.
